Himachal University was incepted on 22 July 1970, having been elevated from a Regional Centre of Punjab University to the only affiliating and residential University of the State, it has today earned a name for itself in the educational fraternity of the world. Himachal University has 12 faculties, out of which 8 are campus-based, 29 teaching departments and some specialized teaching, research, and training centers. There are as many as 185 conventional and professional colleges affiliated to or constituent of the University. These colleges are providing education in humanities, sciences, engineering, medical, dental, IT, management, commerce, education and law streams. The University took a bold step towards the proliferation of knowledge and democratization of education opportunities by setting up a Directorate of Correspondence Courses in 1971, becoming the first institution in North India to impart undergraduate and postgraduate education through distance education mode. Now rechristened as an international center for distance education and open learning (ICDEOL), it is playing a pioneering role in meeting the demands of higher education at both national and international level. The teaching departments have carried out specialized and socially responsive interdisciplinary research in areas of Bio-Technology, Ethno-Bio-Sciences, Industrial Chemistry, Tribal Studies, Special attention has been given to areas relating to the State’s economy and its resource base, hill development, demography and human geography.

Himachal Pradesh University Exam Time Table / Date Sheet

HP University declared the timetable for annual examination after two weeks of application forms submission. Himachal Pradesh University department makes a comity to publish a timetable for the annual exam. In this matter, Board member take important decision to make the timetable. Himachal Pradesh University Admission 2019

HPU B.Tech Admission 2019

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) offers admission to B.Tech program in Regular and Lateral Entry modes. 12th (10+2) with 50% marks is the minimum eligibility criteria for B.Tech and Diploma or B.Sc with 60% marks is required for B.Tech (Lateral Entry). Admission is based on the entrance organized by HP University. Admit card will be available from May 27, 2019.

HPU Undergraduate Admission 2019

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) offers the BDS, MBBS, BHM, BBA, BCA and LL.B courses at the UG level.

To satisfy minimum eligibility criteria for applying to the BDS, MBBS, BHM, BBA and BCA courses, Students are required to have completed their 12th (10+2) studies from a recognized board of study, having obtained minimum 50% marks in the final examination. BDS and MBSS students are required to have completed their 12th (10+2) studies from the science stream with Biology as a compulsory subject.

Aspirants to the LL.B course are required to be holders of a Bachelor’s degree and to have obtained minimum 50% marks in the qualifying degree examination.

Seats to the BDS and MBBS courses will be allotted to the Students who have taken up the NEET entrance examination and have scored satisfactory marks in the same. Seats to the BHM, BBA and BCA courses will be allotted purely on the basis of merit list, which will be drawn up based on Students’ performance in their previous academics. LL.B course seats will be allotted based on Students performance in an entrance test which will be organized by HPU.

HPU MBA, MTA, MRD, LL.M, MCA, M.Tech, M.Com, MMC & PGDMC Admission 2019

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) offers MBA, MTA (Masters of Tourism Administration), MRD (Masters in Rural Development), LL.M, M. Com, MCA, M. Tech, MMC (Masters of Mass Communication) and PGDMC (PG Diploma in Mass Communication) courses at the PG level, among other courses.

To apply to the various PG courses at HPU, Student must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree from a relevant field of study. Students applying to the MTA, MRD and MDS courses are required to have obtained minimum 45% marks in the qualifying degree examination to be eligible to apply for these courses.

Students applying to the MBA, LL.M, MCA, M.Com., MMC and PGDMC courses are required to have obtained minimum 50% marks in the qualifying degree examination to be eligible to apply. Aspirants to the M.Tech course are required to have obtained minimum 55% marks in the qualifying degree examination to be eligible to apply for this course.

Seats to the M. Com., MTA, MDS and MRD courses will be allotted purely on the basis of a merit list, which will be drawn up based on Students’ performance in previous academics. Seats to the LL.M, MCA, M.Tech, MMC and PGDMC courses will be allotted based on Students' performance in an entrance test organized by HPU. MBA seats will be allotted on the basis of performance in the MAT examination, group discussion and personal interview to be organized by the college.

HPU MA & M.Sc. Admissions 2019

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) offers the MA and M.Sc. courses at the PG level. The MA course is offered under 15 specializations and the M.Sc. degree is offered under 6 specializations.

Students who are holders of a Bachelor’s degree, from a recognized university, under a relevant stream are eligible to apply for the respective MA or M.Sc. courses at HPU.

Seats to the following MA and M.Sc. subjects will be allotted on the basis of performance in an entrance test organized by HPU – MA in English, Social work, and Sociology and M.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, Bio-Technology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics and Physics.  Seats to the following MA subjects will be allotted purely on the basis of merit – Hindi, Sanskrit, Performing arts, visual arts, Business Economics, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration and Yoga studies.

HPU M.Phil. & Ph.D. Admission 2019

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) offers the M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses at the doctorate level. M.Phil. is offered under 21 specializations and the Ph.D. course is offered under 14 specializations.

Holders of a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a relevant field of study are eligible to apply for the respective M.Phil / PhD courses, provided that they also have obtained minimum 55% marks in the qualifying degree examinations of both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Seats to the M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses will be allotted based on Students performance in the subject-specific entrance examination, which will be organized by the University.

Aspirants can apply to any of the courses provided by the university by filling out the application form online, which will be made available on the college website during the application period.

• Click on “ I agree to All above terms and conditions”.
• The application form for the respective course will get displayed on the screen.
• Select the course name and fill the relevant information.
• After filling all the required information, click on “Save” button and you will get the unique Registration number along with the password.
• Kindly note the registration number and its password
• Login with your registration number and password
• Fill the rest application form about your education and documents details.
• Kindly upload all required documents.
• After uploading all the documents, click on “Continue and Save button”.
• Application fee can be paid online, after filling out the application form.
• For this, click on “make payment”.
• Make the payment by choosing HDFC/ Cooperative Bank.
• Click on “continue for payment”
• Make the payment by choosing the payment option – debit card/credit card/net banking.
• After the payment is successfully made, click on “submit application form”.
• A print out of the completed application form and all educational documents should be submitted by the student, in person at the time of counseling.
